JUANA MUNIZ

SAN JUAN – Juana Muñiz, 88, died Saturday, December 3, 2016, at McAllen Medical Center. Born in San Juan, Ms. Muñiz lived in San Juan all her life. She was a hardworker, faithful loving mother, grandmother and she was loved by many. She is preceded in death by a son, Ruben Martinez; parents, Eutemio and Agustina Muñiz; 12 siblings. Ms. Muñiz is survived by her six children, Esperanza Muñiz, Blanca (Samuel) Galvan both of San Juan, Arturo (Manuela) Martinez of Houston, Sylvia (Joe) Flores, Arnoldo (Martha) Martinez both of Alamo, Raul (Luisa) Martinez of Pharr; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment followed at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
