There is an old saying: all publicity is good publicity. But not if it’s tied to a criminal indictment.
It’s kind of ironic, but I used that “good publicity” saying last week when a friend texted me a post from the Facebook page of a local media outlet. It included a photo of last week’s Advance News’ front page (good publicity). The poster noted that the story I wrote about former San Juan EDC Director Humberto “Bobby” Rodriguez made it plain that I was a “mouthpiece” for San Juan Mayor San Juanita Sanchez (still good publicity as far as I’m concerned, especially since the guy who wrote it is illiterate, which makes his allegation suspect).
“No” is not the same as “Know.” Which was just one of the mis-spellings in his post. “Know” is not the same as “Now.” “To” is not the same as “Too.” Neither is it true (what he wrote on his Facebook post) that I don’t stay employed long before I move to another newspaper. I actually own The Advance, so it’s doubtful I’ll be unemployed any time soon.
