PHARR – Mrs. Olga Sanchez De Salinas, 68, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Mrs. Salinas was born in Reynosa Tamaulipas, Mexico and lived in Pharr since 1978. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother who devoted her life to her grandkids. She spent most of her free time traveling to events to support each one of them, cheerleading, baseball, football, track, and soccer. She loved music, dancing, and was never shy to be on the microphone. Mrs. Salinas is preceded in death by her parents, Adelaido and Guadalupe Sanchez; a sister, Consuelo Sanchez de Garcia; and a brother, Arimon Sanchez. Olga is survived by her husband, Fidencio Salinas; three children, Carlos (Cleotilde) Salinas, Olga Salinas Elizondo (Oscar) Elizondo, and Fidencio Javier Salinas all of Pharr; four grandchildren, Carlos Alberto Salinas, Jose Eduardo Salinas, Oscar Elizondo III and Victoria Renee Elizondo; and six siblings, Esperanza Almendarez, Alejandro Sanchez, Maria Inez Bravo, Abdon Sanchez, Lazara Chavez and Julia Sanchez Vera. The family would like to thank her numerous nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters-in-law for the support as well as, the Rio Grande Regional Hospital staff and nurses of ICU-2nd floor; Dr. Guillermo Lazo, Dr. Eliana Ochoa, Dr. Juan Calero, Dr. David Schnaiderman, Dr. Juan Pablo Sarmiento, Dr. Ambrosio Hernandez and Dr. Francisco Bravo for the care given to Mrs. Olga Sanchez De Salinas. Visitation was from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, Sunday, June 19, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 3 p.m., Monday, June 20, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment followed at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Pallbearers were Carlos Alberto Salinas, Jose Eduardo Salinas, Oscar Elizondo III, Roberto Almendarez, Ricardo Chavez, and Carlos Vera. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of San Juan.
