PSJA ISD November election
By G. Romero Wendorf
School board elections used to be relatively simple things to figure, especially in a unique district like PSJA, perhaps the only one of its kind, comprised of three different cities: Pharr, San Juan, and Alamo.
The terms were three years, so every year there was an election.
Seven board members: three from the largest city, Pharr; and two each from San Juan and Alamo.
The school district charter, by the way, doesn’t preclude someone from another town running for what’s perceived to be a particular city’s board seats. And in fact, several “interlopers” as they’re known have tried it over the years, but never with any success.
