Adelaido Escaname, Sr., 89, died Thursday, June 2, 2016, at McAllen Heart Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cornelia and Jose Reyes Escaname; a son, Reymundo Escaname; two brothers, Higinio and Pedro Escaname. Mr. Escaname is survived by his wife Maria Guadalupe Escaname of Pharr; 11 children, Ruben (Dora) Escaname of Pharr, Adelaido (Mary) Escaname, Jr. of Palmhusrt, Alvaro (Ayda) Escaname of McAllen, Juana Elva (Emilio) Torres of Harlingen, Rogelio (Maria Teresa) Escaname, Jose Luis (Elizabet) Escaname, Rosalinda (Juan) Inigo, all of McAllen, Jaime Escaname, Miguel Angel Escaname, Ricardo Escaname, Yadira Escaname, all of Pharr; a daughter- in-law Corina Escaname of Edinburg; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ramon Escaname and Eusebio Escaname. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, June 6, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 11 a.m. June 7, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment followed at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
