Company closes McAllen location

You don’t see this very often: a closed-down Whataburger.
The photo that accompanies this story is of the old Whataburger restaurant on the corner of 10th Street and Jonquil in McAllen.
Apparently, the reason it closed was that the company’s lease had run out, and the landowner thinks he can now lease the land for more than what he was charging the fastfood chain. Who knows how old the lease was.
This information comes second-hand and can’t be verified.
