If you have any doubt that humanity is in pretty sad shape, all you have to do is look at politics.
Take this buddy of mine. He ran for public office some time back, long before social media turned us into bigger vultures than we already were.
There was a picture of him taken at one of the Boys and Girls fundraising events where “cops” come and “arrest” you and stick you in a mock jail. You have to call friends to “bail you out.” Of course, all the money goes toward a good cause: the Boys and Girls Club.
