Uria shines at U.S. Olympic Training Center

The U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California provided the setting for the top elite junior and senior race walkers' first competition of the year. The event took place on Saturday, January 2nd, beginning at 8:00 a.m. with the temperature in the top 30’s and low 40’s as the race went underway.
It quickly became apparent that the low temperatures were helping, instead of hindering many of the participants as they were walking at a faster pace than ever before, particularly PSJA Southwest High School sophomore Eddy Uria of the South Texas Walking Club.
