PHARR -- A city source called The Advance early Tuesday morning: “Just so you’re the first to know since Tuesday is your deadline. Police responded to a domestic disturbance call at approximately 4 a.m. They had their dash cams on, but the officers won’t get body cams for another month. They encountered a man holding two knives. He was told to put them down, but apparently he wouldn’t listen. When he lunged at the officers, they shot him, and the wounds proved fatal. We want the public to know, we take public safety very seriously, but we take the safety of our officers very seriously as well.”
