This is probably going to be one of those criminal cases solved if and when someone phones police with an anonymous tip, pointing them toward the shooter. Because so far, without a tipster helping lead the way, McAllen police officers have little to work with after one of their own was shot early Monday morning after stopping on South McColl Road near Orangewood Drive to investigate a suspicious vehicle.
