PSJA’s King: If this passes, it will be the first of its kind

He won’t consider Houston job

“He is selling out the district to the non-profits all for his own personal gain.”
“What’s he doing? Getting into the charter business?”
“He’s going to create this Super Board, and the local school board won’t have any more power.”
“The teachers will lose their teaching contracts.”
“The voice of the parents and community will be left out, forgotten, ignored. We cannot let this happen.”
That was some of the gossip (chisme) making the rounds around PSJA last week as PSJA ISD’s superintendent, Dr. Daniel King, first started to roll out his new proposal that he says has the chance to revolutionize the school district. Other public districts may follow, but based on the fact that he’s been putting this plan together for the past approximately seven months, the other public school districts will have a lot of catching up to do if they like what they see.
