McALLEN -- If Monday night’s meeting of the McAllen ISD Board of Trustees is any indication of what’s to come this school board election set for May, when three seats are up for grabs, get out the war paint because the fight has already begun. Question before the school board Monday night: should the board decide to investigate allegations that Superintendent Jose “Jay” Gonzalez tried to coerce a school employee into getting involved in the upcoming school board race during which three seats will be decided?
