McAllen denies permit for event center in west McAllen

On Monday (June 22), the light went out on the idea of an event center in a neighborhood in west McAllen. By a vote of 4 to 2, and after vigorous opposition from neighbors, McAllen city commissioners voted NOT to allow an event center named Rancho Quinta Luz on a wooded 3 1/4 acres at 4300 Pecan Blvd, just east of Bentsen Road.
