Jaguar’s strip-club killer had some luck in Judge Rudy’s courtroom
The story of 31-year-old convicted killer Genaro Martinez Maldonado is a story of what-ifs wrapped in a list of criminal charges dating back to 2003. Not what you would call a petty criminal, Maldonado was booked into the Hidalgo County jail approximately 13 times over a 13-year time span, charged with serious crimes such as: aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; evading arrest; multiple DWIs; cocaine trafficking; assault on a police officer.
Yet, every time he showed up in Judge “Rudy” Delgado’s 93rd state District Court, instead of the book being thrown at him, a probated sentence was shoved his way, with an admonition from the bench: go forth and do no more evil.
