PHARR – For the second time in six months, the Tobacco Prevention and Control Coalition’s efforts were rewarded with another RGV city going smokefree. At the May 15th City Commission meeting, Pharr adopted a comprehensive smoke-free ordinance protecting the health of all workers and patrons within city limits from the harmful effects of secondhand smoke.
June’s TPCC meeting, which takes place on the 29th from 12-1pm, will be held at 5510 N Cage Blvd, Ste N, in Pharr. Discussion will center on Mission, which will be the next city to hold a vote on adopting a comprehensive smoke-free ordinance, and the upcoming Texas SayWhat! Conference coming up in July.
