CBP Officers at Hidalgo International Bridge Arrest Woman Smuggling Cocaine Worth $36K

HIDALGO – Officers with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Hidalgo International Bridge arrested an 18-yearold woman from Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico after discovering she was attempting to smuggle packages of cocaine from Mexico.

“Great teamwork, outstanding observational skills and dedication to the CBP mission is what allowed our frontline officers to intercept these narcotics,” said Port Director Sylvia Briones, Port of Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas. “It is a shame that young people are falling prey to smugglers and being utilized to conduct these types of activities.”
