Acapulco’s violence continues

If you’re looking to take a vacation to Mexico this summer, Acapulco may not be the place to go unless you’re looking for excitement.
Really, the above statement is in poor taste considering that there’s really nothing funny about what’s currently going on in one of Mexico’s most famed resorts: deadly shootouts between Mexican authorities and criminal gangs. In broad daylight, no less, along a hotel-lined thoroughfare in the heart of the city’s tourist mecca. Bad news for Acapulco, where efforts have spiked in recent months to portray the city in a good light so that would-be tourists won’t be scared away.
