Where is the mayor’s outrage?

I have no low regard for La Joya Mayor Jose “Fito” Salinas. I think he’s a demagogue who knows a good political gimmick when he sees one, which is why he announced late last month that his city will no longer house Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainees in city jails or detention centers.
On the city’s Facebook Page, the mayor even had someone with graphic artist abilities place a red X across the ICE logo. Down with ICE.
Salinas was supposedly doing this in opposition to Trump’s policy of separating children from the adults with whom they are caught crossing the Mexico/U.S. border. Some of the adults are their parents, while others are human traffickers. Supposedly, according to the mainstream narrative, some parents in Central America – mainly those who live in Honduras, El Salvador, and Honduras – are so concerned over their children’s safety that they are willing to let them travel
