Wolverines sprint across track
ALAMO – Last Thursday night in Alamo the PSJA Memorial ECHS boys track team hosted a triangular track meet against the Warriors from Nike Rowe High School and the Redskins from nearby Donna High School. The thin clads of Alamo showed great sprint speed as several young athletes raced themselves to first places.
Leading the charge was junior Tavis Sain. After two triangular meets, Sain remains undefeated in the short sprints. Running the 60-meter dash and the 150-meter dash, Sain laid down some excellent times. Running right behind the sprinter was freshman Christian Morelos. Morelos hails from Audrey Murphy Middle School in Alamo. Thursday night, he showed why he was the district champion last year in the 100-meter dash by placing second behind Sain in the 60-meter dash and the 150-meter dash. With both of these boys, along with transfer Chris Flores and senior Michael Walden, the sprint crew looks solid this year.
