Warriors win city rivalry matchup

McALLEN - Lightning struck often as clouds closed in on McAllen Veterans Memorial Stadium before McAllen Nikki Rowe and McAllen High took the field Friday night for their city rivalry matchup.
The game was delayed for nearly 40 minutes due to strikes from the northeast and southeast. When the game started, lightning continued to strike in the guise of Nikki Rowe as the Warriors claimed a decisive 36-3 victory over the Bulldogs in the District 30-6A opener for both squads.
