PSJA High overcomes early mishap and finishes first in both the 800-meter and 1600-meter relays

The PSJA Bears’ track & field team competed in the Hog Relays last Friday, Feb. 16th at PSJA Stadium. The Bears finished 4th out of 16 teams and scored a total of 66 points.
At the start of the running finals, the Bears had to overcome adversity when the second leg in the sprint relay dropped the baton. Head PSJA Track & Field coach Mike Fernandez explained, “I was disappointed because we practice so much on handoffs, but like I told the boys, ‘Hey, you can hang your head and dwell on this or you can move on and make it up in your other races. Like anything else, mistakes are going to happen, but how you react to them is key.’”
