I hadn’t checked on him for awhile – St. Louis Cardinal Pitcher Jaime Garcia. Only the second major league baseball player to come out of the Rio Grande Valley. Actually, he was born in Reynosa in 1986, but he graduated from Sharyland High School in 2005 and was drafted by the Cards in the 22 round of that year’s MLB draft. He now makes Pharr his home.
