McHi girls soccer team hungry for more victories

Last year, the McHi girls soccer team reached what head coach Pat Arney said was “Mount Everest” – this is where everybody wants to be.

But even for the sherpas, or guides, who help those whose quest is to peak Mount Everest, each trip is different, and each trip is still difficult.

The Lady Bulldogs became the first girls team from the Valley to reach state last year, falling in a competitive 2-0 Class 6A semifinal match against Houston Memorial. McHi became the new girls’ standard in Valley high school soccer, and like those on an expedition, they once again start anew at base camp with the entire mountain ahead of them.
