The Loveable Leo Durocher

As a kid growing up some in Chicago, I was lucky enough to see Leo Durocher, 1905-1991, manage the Cubs. Leo’s classic look was when he stood toe-to-toe with the ump, the spittle flying from his face, vehemently arguing his case before his inevitable ejection from the game. Leo was like the Yankees’ Billy Martin only with a little more, what would you call it, class? And I don’t think Leo was an alcoholic like Martin. Hence, more stability over the years from Leo.
