Fate of UT-Pan American mascot Bronc set for action by regents on Wednesday

Count Texas Monthly magazine among the list of media outlets that are following the efforts by the Edinburg City Council to help influence the selection of the Bronc – the longtime symbol for the University of Texas-Pan American – as the mascot for UT-Rio Grande Valley. A Bronc, short for bronco, is an unbroken or imperfectly broken range horse of western North America, such as a mustang, which is directly descended from horses brought in by the Spaniards, according to merriamwebster.com.
