EDINBURG -- In a battle that went down to the wire, the Edinburg Economedes Jaguars nailed down the final District 31-6A playoff spot with a dramatic 35-28 victory over the Edinburg North Cougars in a crucial regular season finale at Cats Stadium in Edinburg Friday night.
The game was tightly contested from the beginning as the two teams were tied at 7-7 at the end of the first quarter. The Jaguars owned a 21-14 halftime lead and built their margin to 28-14 by the end of the third period.
