County elections called into question?

The Hidalgo County Commissioners Court was split going into the Lion’s Den Tuesday. Was it worth approximately $60,000, probably more by the time everything was said and done, to hire an outside IT elections auditor to come in and determine if this month’s elections were done in a legitimate fashion? Had the electronic voting machines been somehow tampered with?
