Truth Matters
An election season has come to an end, and we are once again left with allegations that voters have been impersonated or have been paid for their votes. The charges happen every two years and are accompanied with a plea for better voter identification. Democrats invariably respond that adequate I.D.’s are unnecessary because no fraud problem exists. They declare that identification requirements are an attempt by Republicans to suppress minority votes.
Democrat protestations, however, become less convincing every year. The Heritage Foundation now maintains a website that does nothing except list, state by state, the names of people who have been convicted or pled guilty to voter fraud. The list is so long that I haven’t even worked my way to the end of the Texas section.
