The airport deployed sniffer dogs in search of illicit or undeclared money. During their hunt they came upon a man from the Far East who had come to the U.K. a decade ago and had asked for asylum. His claim had just been denied and he'd been ordered to leave the country. He was waiting for his airplane. The dog had indicated he was carrying money.
The government officials asked him how much he had on him, and he indicated an amount of around 1,100 pounds. They asked him how he had acquired it. He responded that he'd earned the money while staying in the U.K. That evidently wasn't the right answer. They informed him that since he had been in the country illegally he wasn't allowed to work. All his funds would therefore be confiscated. They took his stash, and he left the country penniless.
