PHARR – Rosa “Rose” E. Martinez, 60, died Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Born in McAllen Mrs. Martinez had lived in Pharr most of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Agustina Martinez. Rose is survived by her husband, Raul Martinez of Pharr; two children, Yvonne (Aaron) Benavides of San Juan and Arnold William Martinez; five grandchildren, Alexis, Jacob, Victoria, Tiffany, Drew; two siblings, Martha (Aniceto) Rocha of Donna and Jesusita (Felipe) Perez of Weslaco; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, at Cross Roads Baptist Church in McAllen. Interment followed at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
