ROBERTO MARTINEZ ALAMO

Roberto Martinez, 71, entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 25, 2017, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Alamo, he had lived there his entire life and was employed by Crest Fruit Co. for over 30 years. Roberto was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was well respected by all who knew him. He loved to work outdoors and was well known for being a hardworking man. He is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sandra Denise Dimas; his parents, Jose and Francisca Martinez; and eight siblings. Roberto is survived by his wife, Maria M. Martinez; three daughters, Lori Ann (Juan) Dimas, their children, Juan Carlos Jr. and Abigail; Rosalinda (Albert) Ramirez, their children, Jacob, Justin, Jaden; and Melissa Marie (Joseph) Moncivais, and their children, Robert, Madeline and Sofia; two great-grandsons, Jayson and Joshua Dimas; 11 siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, May 28, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 10 a.m. Monday, May 29, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment followed at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
