MARCOS C. RODRIGUEZ
PHARR – Marcos C. Rodriguez, 98, went home to our Lord Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Alfredo Gonzalez State Veterans Home in McAllen
Marcos was born in Pharr and lived there all of his life. He was an active member of La Trinidad United Methodist Church and served in the US Navy during World War II.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Del Carmen V. Rodriguez; two children, Marcos Rodriguez Jr., Idolina Rodriguez; his parents, Juan and Florencia Rodriguez; two sisters, Pilar Sanchez, Maria Lopez; two brothers, Domingo Rodriguez, Gilbert Cabrera; and a sister-in-law, Maria Elena Cisneros.
Marcos is survived by a daughter, Noemi E. (+Blas Raul) Rodriguez; a son, Mario Alberto Rodriguez; three grandchildren, Danny (Betty) Rodriguez, Denise (Stacy) Adams, David Noe Rodriguez; three great-grandchildren, Jason Rodriguez, Katelyn Rodriguez and Mark Villarreal; a sister, Petra Gutierrez; a sister-in-law, Yolanda Cabrera; and a brother-in-law, Pedro Velasquez.
Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Monday, June 26, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in San Juan. Interment followed at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Military honors were conducted by VFW Post 7473 of Elsa.
Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
