SAN ANTONIO — Heriberto (Eddie) Aguirre, 90, passed away to the Lord on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at his residence in San Antonio after a lengthy illness. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Ofelia Garza Aguirre, his wife of 65 years; brothers, Gilberto Aguirre and Luis Majin Aguirre; sister Angelica (“Hela”) Aguirre Cantu; and his parents Luz and Josefa Aguirre. “Eddie” is survived by his two children, Gilberto Aguirre, MD and wife Cynthia of San Antonio, Imelda Aguirre Lee and husband Richard also of San Antonio; five grandchildren, Jaime Aguirre of San Antonio, Maritza Aguirre Wong and husband Daryl of Manvel, Javier Aguirre, MD of Austin, Rachel Lee and Ryan Lee of San Antonio; and two great grandchildren, Eric Wong and Amanda Wong of Manvel. Eddie was born on April 6, 1925 in San Jose, Mexico but lived all his life in Texas. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Friday, March 4, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association in Memory of Heriberto “Eddie” Aguirre. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of San Juan.
