SAN JUAN - Belia De La Rosa, 89, died Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Born in Burgos, Tamaulipas, Mexico, she lived in San Juan for most of her life. Belia is preceded in death by her son, Juan De La Rosa; parents, Cleotilde Rios and Guadalupe Palacios; three sisters, Florinda Palacios, Oliva Chavez, Elisa Ramos; a granddaughter, Angelita De La Rosa; and a great-grandson, Isaias Salinas. She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Teodoro De La Rosa, of San Juan; four children, Rolando (Enedelia) De La Rosa, of Alamo, Roberto (Olga) De La Rosa, of Pharr, Juanita (Ruben) Guerra, of San Juan, Lupita (Gilbert) McFarland, of Taylor, PA; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Guadalupe Palacios, of Pharr; and a sister, Lilia Acosta, of Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Visitation was held July 12 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place Monday, July 13 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment followed at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
