ADELAIDA “IDA” MORENO GAITAN
EDINBURG - Adelaida “Ida” Moreno Gaitan went to be with our Lord on Friday, August 11, 2017. She went with great peace, love and comfort, surrounded by her family in her home. Born to her parents on August 1, 1948 mom had 6 brothers, 3 sisters, 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson.
Mom had a huge loving heart for her family, was the rock and voice of reason, always had welcoming arms, and would provide comfort and compassion to all. She nurtured many of her nieces and nephews, always gave great advice, and was a mother hen to all. Mom loved to sew and quilt. She always wanted to make you happy, loved to give out goodies, and enjoyed having family gatherings. Mom loved to travel and see new things and she always dressed and looked beautiful. She was very protective of her family, she was a hard worker, strived to be a better person every day.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Isabel Moreno; brothers, Juan Daniel, Jose, and Armando Moreno; sisters, Minerva and Rachel Moreno; daughter, Beatriz De Leon; and ex-husband, Cruz Gaitan Sr. She is survived by her loving children, Jose Roman (Eunice) Gonzalez, Barbara Gonzalez, Cruz (Jessica) Gaitan Jr, 11 beautiful grandchildren, Amanda Hope Gonzalez, Victor De Leon II, Jose Roman Gonzalez II, Cruz Gaitan III, Ashley Gonzalez, Alyssa Gaitan, Aaron Gonzalez, Isabel Gonzalez, Adrianna De Leon, CJ Gaitan, Caleb Gaitan; a great-grandson, Jimmy Benavidez; daughter-in-law, Sandra Montes; and ex-husband, Mario Uribe.
The family would like to thank DHR medical staff, Allstate Hospice staff, and Dr. Ruben Aleman and staff for their care and comfort provided to our mother. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, August 13, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2017, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
