Almost three years after he received the worrisome news – liver cancer –local Justice of the Peace and former PSJA Board Trustee “Bobby” Contreras is doing well. “I’ve been in remission now for almost three years,” he said, sounding more than just a little grateful. In fact, he’s doing so well he was able to compete in PSJA ISD’s third annual Track of Hope Cancer Awareness Walk (Feb. 21). Monies raised for the event are used to benefit local community members currently battling cancer. Slimmer than he once was, Contreras said he’s thankful for every day.
