Julian Ramos, 84, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Born in Orange Grove, TX, he had lived in San Juan most of his life. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Noelia Ramos; a son, Rene Ramos; and his first wife, Ramona Ramos. Mr. Ramos is survived by his wife, Sofia Ramos of San Juan; nine children, Julian Ramos, Jr., Eden Ramos, Luis Ramos, Juan Manuel Ramos, Ana Bertha Rios, Elena Mendoza, Arturo Gomez, Francisco Gomez, all of San Juan and Marivel Rangel of Edinburg; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leonel Ramos, Rairo Ramos, both of Mexico; and a sister, Placida Garcia of Mexico. A rosary was held Thursday, Jan. 8, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment followed at San Juan Cemetery. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
