Ismael “Smiley” Reyna, 61, died Thursday, January 1, 2015, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Reyna was born in Lima, OH and had lived in Edinburg most of his life. He is preceded in death by his father, Israel G. Reyna; and a nephew, Edgar Flores. Ismael is survived by his wife, Nielda Reyna; his mother, Victoria C. Reyna; and five siblings, Israel (Debra) Reyna, Jr., Isidro (Claudia) Reyna, Irma (Criserio) Gonzlez, Irene Zamora, Isidoro (America Garza) Reyna, all of Edinburg. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, Jan. 5, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service took place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Cremation followed at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
