Magdalena G. Oviedo, 80, died Sunday Dec. 7, 2014, at McAllen Medical Center. Born in Elsa, she had lived in Alamo all of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rafael and Rosa Guerrero; four siblings, Ricardo, Adan, Eva and Ramiro. Magdalena is survived by her husband, Albino O. Oviedo, of Alamo; nine children, Gloria (Jose) Orosco of Grand Prairie, TX., Albino (Lydia) Oviedo, Feliciano (Sonia) Oviedo, Eduardo (Rachel) Oviedo, Santos (Lidia) Oviedo, Lydia Martinez, all of Alamo, Guillermina (Anthony) Tovar of Arlington, TX., Seferino (Graciela) Oviedo, and Janette (Robert) Romero, both of Alamo; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Reynalda Gonzalez of Edinburg, Ramona (Isabel) Munoz, of Greeley, CO., and Elvira Gonzalez of Weslaco. Visitation was held Tuesday, Dec. 9, from 4 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Weslaco City Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
