ALAMO – Ninfa Gonzalez, 77, died Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at Arbor View Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Edinburg. Born in General Teran, Nuevo Leon, she had lived in Alamo most of her life and was a member of Joy Fellowship Church in McAllen. Ms. Gonzalez is survived by three children, Vicente (Sylvia) Reyna, Jr. of Alamo, Veronica (Lucio Sanchez) Gonzalez of Enid, Oklahoma, Jorge (Maria Cantu) Gonzalez II of Alamo; nine grandchildren, Vicente Reyna III, Valdemar Reyna, Sabrina Hernandez, Esteban Castro, Abram Castro, Saida Sanchez, Ashley Gonzalez, Allysa Gonzalez and George A. Gonzalez; 13 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Rode Mata of Alamo, Sara Hernandez of Pharr, and Francisca Molina of La Feria. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, August 28, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
