AMALIA FARIAS SANCHEZ
ALAMO - Amalia Farias Sanchez, 71, died Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Home in McAllen.
Born in San Juan, Mrs. Sanchez lived in Alamo all of her life and was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Trinidad and Maria Isabel Farias.
Amalia is survived by her husband, Clemente Sanchez of Alamo; three sons, Eduardo (Deanna) Sanchez, Leonardo (Veronica) Sanchez, Clemente (Jackie) Sanchez Jr., all of San Juan; four siblings, Ruben Farias of Weslaco, Rosa Maria Gutierrez of Alamo, Julian Farias of McAllen, and George Farias of Alamo; seven grandchildren, Mike, Christian, Nathan, Sebastian, Jacob, Adrian and Gabriel Sanchez.
Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, October 8, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 9 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment followed at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Pallbearers were Christian Sanchez, Nathan Sanchez, Jacob Sanchez, Mikey Sanchez, Blue Flores, and Jacob Borrego.
Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
