PHARR - Refugio H. (Cuco) Hernandez, 82, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at his residence in Pharr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leonila Z. Hernandez in 1992. Survivors include a son, Cesar Rene (Lucy) Hernandez of San Juan, a daughter Celia H. (Eberardo) Martinez of Edinburg; two granddaughters: Loni M. Hernandez and Kayla R. Hernandez and one grandson Orlando Diego Martinez. He is also survived by seven sisters: Sara Brewster, Lidia Olivarez, Consuelo Hernandez, Esperanza Morin, Beva Cellar, Elia Ortiz and Elena Torres, a sister-in-law, Gracie Hernandez (UJohnny); 3 brothers: Manuel Hernandez, Jr., Daniel Hernandez and Ernesto Olivarez. A celebration of life service was held on Friday, June 6, at 10 a.m. at La Trinidad United Methodist Church in Pharr. Burial with Military Honors provided by the VFW, Post 8788 of McAllen followed at the Guadalupe Cemetery in Pharr. Funeral services were entrusted to the care of Skinner-Silva Funeral Home of Pharr.
