PORFIRIO R. PALACIOS, JR.
PHARR – Porfirio R. Palacios, Jr., 88, died Thursday, September 14, 2017, at his residence in Pharr.
Born in San Juan, he had lived in Pharr all of his life and was a business owner for 40 years.
Mr. Palacios is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Palacios; two sons, Rogelio Palacios and Juan Ramon Gomez; his parents, Porfirio Sr. and Fidela Palacios; and a sister, Gloria Martinez.
Porfirio is survived by eight children, Arnoldo (Gloria) Palacios, Ana (Florindo) Singleterry, Audelia Palacios, Ramiro (Sonia) Palacios, all of Pharr, Martha (Ruben) Rios, Porfirio (Maria Elena) Palacios, Fidela (Randy Burnett) Palacio, all of San Juan, Virginia (Gilbert) Alaniz of McAllen; 29 grandchildren; numerous great- grandchildren; and a sister, Maria Guadalupe Palacios of Pharr.
Visitation was held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, September 17, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 1 p.m. Monday, September 18, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment followed at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
