Darling: City taxes spent wisely

McALLEN -- Even though Othal E. Brand Jr. outspent his opponent, McAllen’s incumbent Mayor Jim Darling, by approximately 2-1, he still fell approximately 1,400 votes shy of obtaining the seat his dad held for 20 years.
The vote count isn’t yet official, but Darling garnered 4,409 to Brand’s 3,061.
