MARIA EVANGELINA GALLARDO
MCALLEN – Maria Evangelina Gallardo, 82, died Thursday, April 13, 2017, at PaxVilla Hospice in McAllen.
Mrs. Gallardo was born in McAllen and lived there all of her life. She graduated from McAllen High School in 1954 and ranked 3rd in her class. Maria received a full paid scholarship to attend Texas Woman University.
She is preceded in death by a son, Alfonso Gallardo; and a grandson, Ricky Chavez.
Maria is survived by her husband, Erineo Gallardo of McAllen; six children, Horencia (Luis) Chapa of El Paso, Gloria Gallardo, Ricardo (Ulisa) Gallardo, Joel (Lillian) Gallardo, all of McAllen, Linda (Richard) Doyle of Austin, Norma Chavez of South Padre Island; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Rafael Sanchez, Leonel Sanchez, both of McAllen, Rogelio Sanchez of Harlingen; and a sister, Raquenel Ordonez of Pharr.
The family would like to give a very special thanks to Dr. Abdias Etienne, Bobby Gracia, RN, and the rest of the staff at PaxVilla Hospice for the exceptional care they gave to their mother.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
