MANUEL “MIKEY” MATA

DONNA – Manuel “Mikey” Mata, 30, died Friday, March 10, 2017, at Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi, Tx. Born in Weslaco, Mikey had lived in Donna most of his life. Mikey loved his daughters and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved his cat, spending time at the beach, and enjoyed listening to his music. He is preceded in death by his father, Miguel Mata; his maternal grandparents, Ramon and Irma Torres; and his paternal grandparents, Francisco and Teresa Mata. Manuel is survived by his two daughters, Karla Mata and Kiera Mata; his mother, Bertha Mata; and two sisters, Melissa Mata and Melanie Mata. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, March 16, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 10 a.m. Friday, March 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna. Interment followed at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral service were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
