Pharr severs ties

As a nosy reporter, I always find it suspicious when elected officials or those who serve them, often for a hefty price, don’t return my phone calls.
In the case of questions I have as laid out in the story The Advance published last week (March 8th; front page) about Edinburg City Councilman Homero Jasso Jr.’s tire recycling business in San Manuel, Santa Anita Recycling LLC., neither Edinburg City Manager Richard Hinojosa or City Attorney “Rick” Palacios returned my phone calls Monday seeking answers.
Their respective secretaries said they were working. Left my name and number. Please call. Nada.
