Four fired Alamo employees back on agenda this week

A recent annual audit performed by an outside CPA firm – Burton, McCumber & Cortez — reportedly showed that Alamo’s utility billing supervisor and longtime employee, Matilde Lopez, repeatedly violated city policies by giving herself, three employees and one of her sisters a free pass when it came to water past-due payments and disconnect fees. One of the employees, for example, should have paid for 109 disconnect fees, at $25 per, but thanks to his alleged connections with Lopez, he never paid a dime, according to the internal review.
