EDUARDO REYES

ALAMO – Eduardo “Papa Bear” Reyes, 60, died Thursday, February 16, 2017. Born in Alamo, he had lived there most of his life and was a member of The Family Church in Weslaco. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Angelita Reyes. Mr. Reyes is survived by his wife, Ida Reyes; four daughters, Angel Mendoza, Jeannette Lira, Sandra (Martin) Garcia, Nelda (Samuel) Grimaldo; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Jillian, Natalie, Martin III, Emily, Hayley, Matthew, Lizette, Arianna; a greatgrandson, Mason; and six siblings, Delia Nino, Damacio Reyes, Jesus Reyes, Aracelia Gomez, Amalia Escobedo, Erasmo Reyes. Visitation was held from 4 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Friday, Feb. 17, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
