County Commission: On November ballot

Did Valley Interfaith really send in people to adult daycare centers to gather signatures on a petition so that a healthcare Proposition would be put on the November ballot?
For people not familiar with the group, Valley Interfaith began in 1983 under the leadership of Bishop John Fitzpatrick of the Catholic Diocese of Brownsville. He reached out to other religious and civic leaders across the RGV, and before anyone knew it, Valley Interfaith was a force to be reckoned with, simply because it could help or hurt a politician based on his or her promise to help the poor if elected.
